Ok, it can be fixed, but not at Navman. They do not do repairs but send them to another company in the UK to carry out the work.
It will cost £29.95 to do which inc postage back to me from this other company.

I'll let you all know when it is returned, in full working order I hope. Confused

Got a nice new iCN630 sent as a replacment. Unpacked it, installed the SmartST V3 software and tried to install the V3 maps supplied by them.

NOTHING Evil or Very Mad

I then spent over 2hrs on the phone to them, trying this, uninstalling/installing that & still nothing.

They (the tech team) are going to discuss the problem now with the replaced unit overnight so I'll see what the hell is wrong with a so called NEW UNIT Rolling Eyes

It looks nice, not a mark on it & a new screen. Ideal for a door stop Twisted Evil

Watch this space for an update............

Right then. All fixed & up running.

The basics are:

Navman installed an old v2 SE England map onto the new unit, but supplied me with new 2005 SmartST with v3 maps.

What I did is:

Cleaned off the B drive (SD Card)

Uninstalled the SmartST from my computer.

Removed the file 'NAVMAN' from C, programs on my computer & restarted the comp.

Reinstalled the 2005 SmartST and started from the beginning.

All fine now so I hope it will give me more years of good use.

Cheers guys for your help here. 8)
