Try going through the list I posted above, and see what it does, don't forget the fomat part at step 5 - not something I think should be needed but there could be something on the card the device doesn't like.
How does the unit boot up when using the larger card? - do you get a red X flashing on the screen, or does it boot demanding map activation? - Mike |

Just redone the the card following your instructions to the letter including format.
When go powered up with bigger card it goes straight through setting the basic preferances then asks for activation still
When the old card goes back in it fires straight up no probs. |

Do you have anything to do with the France map installed on the new card? or is it a straight card copy? - if the later I would suggest you talk to TomTom support in the morning 08451610009 get a call in around 08:00 and explain exactly what you have done in terms of copying the card to a larger one - Mike |

Right I am up and running on the new larger sd card thanks to a nice man at tomtom :D
Now if its possible how do I go about getting my french map on it, bearing in mind I dont have receipts for my previous devices. |
