Yep, I bought an Holux GPSlim 240 yesterday on eBay, and am using the same device on loan over the weekend courtesy of a work colleauge. Amazing little device - electronics has certainly come a long way, and I suspect, a long way still to go.
I must say also that the Navteq maps are quite amazing. I have been using bitmap maps of Australia over the last 6 years or so, and they are OK, although generally a few years out of date. With Oziexplorer, they do the job, and it is amazing how many bush tracks are on the 1:250000 maps of Oz.
However, driving through central NSW from Melbourne to Brisbane, some 1700 km as we did over the Xmas break (albeit without the voice prompts), I was impressed that except for a few private roads (driveways to a farm or homestead), every little dirt track was on the map. Very detailed and impressive.
I am also very pleased that the XDA IIi will also receive GPS signals from the Bluetooth GPS device, while at the same time, transmitting the voice prompts to my Blueant hands free device - very impressive !!
I have also confirmed that the Bluetooth Holux device works fine with my Oziexplorer CE, so that will work well when we go "off road". All in all I am a happy little camper
Cheers for now,
Peter
