Mark,
The thread that DennisN found is exactly the thing to do. I could not connect from the middle of October but then yesterday I found the answer provided by a very nice chap called Malcolm.
Fingers crossed you have the same problem and the solution works.
Best of luck and ...you beat me to the answer DennisN

Just in case it helps, I found I could not get TomTom Home to connect to my device or login to the TomTom site, despite disabling firewall, trying various routers, etc. UNTIL.... I uninstalled Kerio Personal Firewall from my computer (and I mean remove, not just disable). Now it works fine (and I use Sygate... )
Of course if you're not using Kerio Firewall then my solution won't help.

The whole BT Voyager shakedown is moot.....Initial post would suggest markpenniston has updated before using HOME as he 'went back' to v5. This would suggest a connection being made to update to v6 at some point. There is more likely a conflict or configuration issue.
Have you removed all the POI's as suggested previously, taking the system to a bare minimum installation?
Have you tried replacing the 6.52 files? ( links posted by myself & Andy_P2002 back there somewhere ).
I don't actually see what the 'problem' was that you had while running v6 posted here. Must have been bad if it made you 'go back to v5'?. Any chance that detailing this may be of relevence?????
regards

This is turning into a debate now.
I have now updated to 6.520 but still getting the original message on Home ' i do not have the required component'. This means that no updates can be installed by Home. I wanted this to work because i wanted to be kept up to date and have the GPS fix installed.
Thanks for help already given. It is greatly appreciated. |

' i do not have the required component' means the additional File that is needed to have a Virtual TT on your PC.
If you Click on My GO, or My Device, (under More) it should come up with that message and give you the Option to Download and Install it.
This should have no bearing on your ability to connect to the TT Website.
In both cases the Login Details need to be the same as those you used when using the TT Site. Use the File | Login Menu at the top of the Screen, to make sure that the details are correct.
Also under Device | Change Device check that Change Target Device is looking for the correct Device. _________________ Richard

Hi Oldboy.
Thanks for the info. I tried what u said and clicked My Go. It gave me that message and told me to click login. When i do this it just comes up with that error. I could not see any download options
Is there anywhere i can check my username/email address within Home?
How does it know my login details?
Can this be a problem with my pc? I have uninstalled Home and Cleaned registry files.
Thanks |

Mark,
In your original post you included the configuration information. The second block of data - "Home info" shows that there is no loaded DLL file. This is, I believe, the file that you have not got and the one you need. The one I have for my 700 is a file called "6-520-7690-2.dll"
On my computer this is located in the tomtom/home/navigator dlls sub-directory.
Have a look in your sub-directory and see if the file is there.
It may be possible to download the file from the TT website - I don't know. Neither I am sure whether it is the done thing for me to send you the file directly - I know a moderator or someone will let us know.
Regards
Richard |

You can do this by visiting the PLUS Services page on TT website. After login, you can amend you account from Profile.
Use browser not HOME. |
