Laptops vs. dedicated devices for the car

I carried a very expensive (my stupid spec) laptop in my van for about 4 years, together with a crate full of street maps which also cost a fortune.
The laptop was only useful when stationary - whilst driving it would have had a tendency to perform a costly dive into the footwell, never mind the acrobatics to do things and to stare sideways at it! So using it meant find a parking place, switch on, boot up, fire up MS Autoroute and off we go. Took quite a time.
In May 2005 I bought a TT GO300, never took the laptop out again and have looked at the A-Zs perhaps as much as 5 times only in over 18 months. The GO sits fractionally off the end of my nose and has a couple of nice ladies who between them give me good directions and tipoffs about speed cameras. I don't have time or (at my age) inclination for in-car sex, so these are nirvana.
