Yes - A hard reset restores the Mio to factory settings, so it's a reasonably safe method to try. However I can't get Tomtom to work at all on the C510. |

Did you create a new activation code for the C510's device ID? _________________ Lutz

Yep. Tested it before I put the maps on - gave me the message about not being able to find the maps. Put the maps on, went through the activation process and now it hangs when starting (just after the "don't use the software when driving" warning message").
Tried Tomtom but obviously they don't support the C510 (which is fair enough). |

Incidentally, another guy here also got his copy today, and installed on his Orange SPV M500 with no problems - so the software seems OK.
I'm not convinced by the fact the installer won't run and the files have to be unpakced manually (namely the ttn.cab file) - does this happen on the C710? |

Don't know, I never use the CAB files. Don't trust all these additional files they want to install.
I always extract the TomTom Navigator.exe and data.chk files manually. _________________ Lutz

I've tried this every possible way with no success (as have a couple of people in the IT department)... so until someone can demonstrate otherwise, I would assume Tomtom navigator doesn't actually work on the C510.
Not such a disaster for me as I didn't have to pay for it... but I wouldn't want someone to encounter the same problems having shelled out over a hundred quid. |

New post as I can edit:
If lbendlin could give a summary as to how he (she?) installs TTN on the C710, I'd be happy to try that before I pass TTN on to someone else. |

Right... managed to get it working - sort of. Tomtom now runs, but I can't get a valid GPS signal - however I've no idea how to configure Tomtom to use the inbuilt GPS of the Mio - any tips? |

Some more info (no edit function!)
I've tried many many combinations for the GPS device, except the Baud rate which I've left at 38400. All ports give a "no gps device" message, except GPS Serial COM2, which gives the "No valid GPS signal!" message.
If you can offer any advice that would be great. |
