Perhaps the time isn't shown there on the 520. It is on the 635 (SmartST2005), 530 (SmartST2006) and 550 (SmartST2005 Release 2) devices, though. They all show [NoGPS] when I have no fix and the time of day (including offset) when a fix is present. I've no idea why yours isn't showing the same.

I have just checked out my 510 and from indoors without a GPS fix, the time on the map screen showed 2.55pm - I went out doors and waited for a fix and as soon as I had one the correct time of 15:00 hrs came up on the Map screen.
I navigated to the GPS status screen and the time is shown as 15.00.32 and advancing in seconds... does yours do the same? On the Measurements screen the offset is shown as UTC1.

The 520 shows the time in the same way as the 510.

After an hour or so switched off, I switched it back on again and the time was still correct.
