That is incorrect. The vast majority of people buy their maps legally, and we encourage them to do so. Please stop discussing illegal activities. _________________ Lutz

Sorry, I was looking for an edit funtion to delete that bit of the post, but non available but feel free to delete that part of the post or the hole post if it offends or get's anyone into trouble. I was just trying to make a point that copying of the maps is not easily done and seems inpossible without an original SD card containing that map, the TomTom team seem to have done a good job trying to stop there products being copied.
However I will say that even though I completly understand why people don't like there products copied. The Price of a ToTom is not cheap and perhaps due to that would be nice that if you can prove that you have bought and own that product you would be able to get free or substantially reduced map upgrades for life. People who like the TomTom products like me, have to think that the cost of map upgrades is fairly expensive if you want to be kept up to date, but oviously that's my opinion and others may feel the cost of the map updates is cheap.
But I'm only making my views heard, and not hear to annoy anyone. |

So what if you do a full back up or your TT1 128MB carb, then restore it to a 1GB card for the space, does it then need an activation code??
Or does it not care, as opposed to simply copying the card contents across??
Hmmm wonder if I'm making any sense at here ![Rolling Eyes](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif) |

My heads spinning, but the basic facts are,
--------------------------------
I'm sorry I have to remove the rest of this post and lock the topic, because Lutz has already asked you not to carry on along this line of discussion. I think enough have been said already. - Eldar |
