Thank you, Waflo and Metroace, the explanation is quite clear.
So this depends on the whole of Europe being on a single map, which was not previously the case. It means that a new map structure (or no structure at all, just one big map) came with the release of Version 4, and it explains the non-compatibility of the maps with other versions.
I just hadn’t seen this mentioned anywhere as a new feature of version 4. I wonder why “cross-border navigation” isn’t being shown as one of the advantages of upgrading ? It must certainly be more useful than “bypass” or “speed warning”.
Does this one big map also include, for example, the British Isles and Norway, Sweden, and Finland, which are not “joined up” with the rest of Europe ?
Hi, first post from me, my name is Rob. I've been running VM on my laptop for about a year now, apart from having to send the first set of discs back (cd 1 was faulty and wouldn't start the setup) the whole thing has been running pretty well.
Anyway a few weeks ago I bought a Qtek 9100, got it as an upgrade on my mobile tariff. A friend of mine has been using one for a while and running Prymenav (I think) on it, paired with a bluetooth reciever. I thought I'd try running VM on mine, just y'know, to see how it would work. Well it's been downhill ever since of course, the mobile device has to be plugged in when setup is first run, I now know, so I unistalled the programme and re-installed it with the phone connected. Now the setup stops at the point where files are supposed to be downloaded to the phone, with a message saying "an error has occured", very helpful. I know the phone is synced to the laptop ok as Active sync reads the files on the phone and I can download music and video files onto it. It doesn't make any difference if I don't connect the phone and run setup, it still stops at the same point. So, I'm at square one now, I can't use VM on my machine 'cause I can't load it on and will have to follow the green line on Autoroute until I can figure out what's going on.
