it'd not the entire Jane voice - individual OGGs within the CHK file MAY be compressed. _________________ Lutz

OGG - the actual sound file in open source audio format
CHK - TomTom resource file (like a resource-only DLL) that can contain text strings, images, audio files etc - any kind of data object)
VIF - reference file that SHOULD link a voice name ("Jane" etc.) to a resource file. In reality the voice names are hard coded in TomTom which looks like a design flaw to me. _________________ Lutz

If the OGG files are the actual sound files, why is it then when I change yards.ogg to meters.ogg and vice versa, then recompile them into the vif file and upload to my TT, the voice still says yards and not meters? |
