One of the things we are considering is to have a person paid by PocketGPSWorld whose job would be primarily to monitor the use and abuse of our copyright data on the internet and other places. As you can imagine this can take a lot of effort as each individual case needs to be reported and followed through.

If we are successful though we may start to take legal procedings under copyright law against persistant offenders. The main issue is setting the process up and finding the time to do it. I have a person in mind so this may start to happen in the next couple of weeks.

Maybe we could offer this as a service to the other GPS companies who are being ripped off which could help pay for the effort we are putting in. A lot of the TomTom Speed Camera sale items also sell illegal map data as well. TomTom, NavMan, CoPilot, Navigon... get in touch if you are interested.
