TTN5 & BT-338 GPS Reciever

If you do the following this allowed me on an iPAQ 4150 and TOMTOM 5 to Connect to the GlobalSat BT-338 no problem...

Delete ALL connections...

For automatic BlueTooth connection please follow these instructions:

Install a registry editor, for example PHM Regedit http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/

After installation, navigate it to \HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BtConfig\AutoConnect\0008. 0008 might be another number, it's a reference to your Bluetooth COMport's number.

Under 0008, create a new DWORD key called BtBrowserEnabled, and give it the value 0 (zero).

Close the registry editor and soft-reset your PDA.

Open the Bluetooth Manager and connect to your GPS receiver. If all goes well that should have been the last time.

By the way, I couldn't get PHM Edit to install (I see others complaining also), so I found another good registry editor called BitsInside RegEdit

Then Pair Ipaq to BT338, then use "Other Bluetooth GPS setting" and Serial Port 6 (in my case)...

Then Connect!

It works! you will probally have to mess about a bit anyhow, but good luck
