PS have you tried this link.

http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/forum/ftopic3652.html

With 1 set of Ansmann 2500ma NiMH fast (1hr) rechargeables I get approx 12 hrs use (before installing display off) with Memory Map. I carry a second set just in case.

Norman,
I have tried your setup, but there seems to be a problem. When I press the Record button, the display just flashes but does not switch off.
On referring to the DisplayOff.txt file it says this
<<- Only the RECORD hardware button turns on the display.
- Upon pressing the RECORD button, the assigned application to this button gets started right after the display is turned on; therefor it's not recommended to assign the program to be launched with the RECORD button (i.e it will continiously turn on/off your display).
>>
I then tried assigning DisplayOff to button 1. This works OK, and pressing the Power button restores the display, however Memory-Map does not have the focus, it is the DisplayOff screen which comes up. So I have to close this down to see MM. Any further ideas?

Sorry if I have caused a problem for anyone. IMHO ScreenOff is the better utility, I gave the wrong link in my previous post & LeighB had problems until I realised. Sent him ScreenOff & all is well now.

Here is the ScreenOff link http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/screenoffforpocketpc.shtml
