here's another view (i should take daytime pics..but that's when the rain goes away from socal.

As you can see on this pic, the Seidio's provided 'swivel' mount is attached to the ProClip (which is attached to the dash by inserting its flat 'legs' between the dash and vent (check out ProClip USA's website). The swivel mount is then attached via 'ziptie' I was experimenting with this, but have since changed the ziptie to 'black' colored ones so it is less noticeable. The reason
why i used the zipties, is for the fact that the way the Seidio's swivel mount's based is designed, was specifically for Seidio's included gooseneck mounts. I could have used a drill to properly attach the swivelmount base to the Proclip unit..but the ziptie works just fine (less headache w/ drilling, etc.)
With this set up, i'm able to 'swivel' the PDA to face me, or my front passenger. And also able to twist the PDA at a 45* angle for 'landscape view (if using the pda as a video unit- for watching my favorite shows at lunch break ) The vents are totally functional, since i'm not using any of the vent's slot to attach the unit.

I like this set up best- in relation to using Seidio/PDA combination. Seidio's gooseneck suction unit had seen its days-- (terrible design, the suction cup itself had stretched from its base to the point of being unable to create any suction) The vent clip is good for temporary usage..but flimsy to attach and detach. My ProClip/Seidio swivel mount combination was the best solution that i'm satisfied with, plus it is very sturdy and easily detachable if i wanted to use the unit in our other car (which is also a Passat, mind you, the proclip unit is car model specific!)
