Tried again with POI loader. I cannot get a choice to instal the file on the SD card. It automatically puts it ion the 2699. Is there a setting somewhere to alter this please? I tried uninstalling the file (via POI loader) and reinstal but does not work.
You get the option of Device or Computer.
Select Garmin Device.
The next screen gives a drop-down list, so you can select either Device (nuvi 2699 unit ID nnnn) or Memory Card (drive reference letter).
In the box labelled Device, there is a downwards-pointing sort of arrow.
Click this and the drop-down list should appear.
Dales.
Thanks this works. I now have the same camera file in pos folder on both 2699 and the sd card. Which one will garmin use or can I just delete the one on garmin?

Yes, I would delete the .gpi (poi) file on Garmin, and keep the one on SD. Definitely!!
If you do, and if the French police ask whether you've got speed warnings installed, you can whip out the SD card, and say NON. If the cameras are loaded to Garmin, you are nicked.
Also, corrupted files can sometimes cause problems.
If a corrupted file is on SD, you can simply remove it, and fix it.
If a corrupted file has been loaded to Garmin's internal memory, then it can be much less easy to deal with.
