I could write on my thumbnail what I know about sat navs but I have to buy one for a 7.5 ton vehicle. Need it to be idiot proof and have the ability to alert to restrictions such as low bridges.....is there such a device out there? |

There is a TomTom Truck Version. It would be a good starting point. _________________ Richard

Thanks for that I had heard of those but they are really quite expensive at £300. I wondered if there was a regular product which also dictated such road restrictions. The truck ones look amazing but you appear to pay for all kinds of commercial inclusions, such as how to avoid diversions and hold ups and still deliver your goods on time. I am not involved in a commercial exercise and wouldn't particularly need to use most of what they offer. |

However, if you will be asking the SatNAv to find a route which will avoid restrictions, that's a different matter and you shall need to look towards a specialist (i.e. expensive) Trucking/Caravaning SatNav or app. TomTom, Garmin or iGo to name the most popular.
EDIT, There is a topic here somewhere (about 6 months ago) of a TomTom Truck map purchased on Sd card and placed into an older version car TomTom. I think it worked well and the reviews were favourable. I'll just need to find the link. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
