Morning All
Wonder if anyone can help, have replaced my 720 with a 750 and so far pleased except with the planning speed but mainly with the lack of being able to have a spoken warning near poi's. I used to have the 720 warn me of shell 300 yards etc. Now it seems I can only have a tone. So what I have done is find an online text to speech program which I can use and I have my spoken warnings but it's to quiet. Does anyone know a TTS program, free, whereby I can adjust the volume or any way round this problem?
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure I fully understand your question Mick. The 750 has the warning feature near a POI (speed cams etc). You'll just need to set them up again.
If the POI is for a petrol station etc you'll need an ogg file of the same name for it to work. I.e. 'Shell.ov2' and 'Shell.ogg' etc
Unless I've misunderstood your question?

The 720 gave you the option to have the voice say asda 300 yards or even asda 300 yards next option 24 miles all the 750 allows you to do is have a tone warning. I created a few off files online ie asda 300 yards but they are much quieter than the voice on Tomtom so hard to hear. |

Make sure you have a computer voice selected in Change Preferences/ Manage Voices/ Switch Voice. Once a computer voice is active the device will be able to read out POI names and warn you as the earlier device did - Mike |

The 720 gave you a menu to select sound, brief or full warning but the 750 does not just takes you to the list of ogg files |

Which VOICE have you got selected the 750 will do what you want as long as you have the correct voice selected - Mike |

I have Kate computer voice. When I select what poi I want warned about I am taken to the screen where you select the sound after I have set the yards. On the 720 after yards I was then taken to the page where you select a brief warning or detailed or just a tone like cow, bell etc. This is all I get on the 750 live, the option to pick a sound. |

Have you tried reselecting Kate, again, in Change Voice.
When you tap Select, do you get the Speech Preferences screen?
Does it have Read aloud POI warnings ticked? _________________ Richard
