ONE (30 Series) / 125 / 130 512MB, N14644
Hi, can anyone advise if its possible to install the camera database on the above unit, and if so how, as it seems every thing in the 130 files are geared to the tomtom database. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

If you are talking about the PGPSW camera database, I do not see why it wouldn't install. You can install custom ov2 files on that model and that is what the database is made up of, I believe.
Scoll down the installation guide to your model here for more info. _________________ David |

I think the ONE 30 Series is the V4. If so you have to use the SDK menus to get the Manage POI's.
Have a look on my web site. Just click my sig below, then the my TomTom page.
DO READ THE PAGE HERE It contains some very important info on configuring the poi's. Note the sound advice and issues if you click the wrong button when configuring the sound. |

Great TomTom Page,
where do the pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycamera data files go, as my uk map has no main files in it, only DNA, MET, DATA, CFG, ERC files.
in the other main files the poi file has a TLV File. |

Put the POI files in the UK&ROI folder along with the other files that your computer doesn't recognise i.e. the data, met, cfg, as this is the correct location for them.
You should still have an option in Change Preferences for Warn When Near POI which is all you need to set up the warnings, you shouldn't need to hack the menu to achieve this - Mike |

Did you do a "Safely remove Hardware" using the icon in the system tray (near the PC clock) or did you just pull the USB cable out?
It's very easy to corrupt the file structure if you do that.
If you remove the files you added again, does the unit now work? If not you will need to reinstall the software. I was going to say the instructions for that are in the FAQs at the top of this forum, but actually I can't see anything specifically for that, so try some instructions I wrote on another forum HERE.
Basically, you need to remove the program files from the TomTom (that's the "loose" files which are not in a folder - leave the folders and their contents alone) and get TomTom Home to install fresh ones.
As we always say, make sure you back up the entire unit to your PC before deleting anything though.
Incidentally, there's no need to quote everything from the post immediately before yours each time . |

Nothing serious I hope...
You only need to remove those "loose" files if you decide you need to reinstall the software.
Try just removing the camera files you added first, to see if you can get back to where you were.
It may also be worth removing the "MapSettings.cfg" file from the folder named after your map ("UK&ROI" or whatever yours is called) and seeing if the unit boots up OK after that, as that .cfg file is a known cause of continual re-booting if it gets corrupted.
Remember that if you cannot see any of the three-letter extensions to the file names (such as .cfg) then you need to adjust the default view in Windows Explorer (Go to the Tools menu / Folder Options / View tab and UN-tick "Hide extensions for known file types", and they should now be shown. |

Hi Andy,
Sorry late replying but have trying all your suggestions to no avail.
when connected the unit does not ask if want to connect to PC, goes to home that works ok, when disconnected it hangs on tt screen & have to reset. Also tried deleting files so as to force install of latest version but keep getting errors so it stops. It seems compleatly stuffed.

Have you got a Windows Explorer backup from when the device was working properly that you can copy back to it? _________________ Anita

What I mean is I have I.E Backups but only of the tt backup, which I reinstalled but still get the problem. |

So it connects ok but doesn't ask you if you want to first?
And when it's connected you CAN view all the files and folders with Windows Explorer/My Computer?
And "Operate my Go" in Home works OK?

What errors are you getting? |
