I have downloaded and applied the 850 version of the post codes to my 510 device that has 850 maps.
Does anyone know if it safe to do the same to my 520 device that only has 840 maps or will it cause problems? |

Can't see why not. It has been shown that if the post code refers to an address that is not on the map it still work.
If it didnt work you could always copy the original version back. _________________ TomTom Go 540 - V9.058, Map GB & Ireland 860.3101

As far as im aware, the .postal files are not related to any map you have installed, they will just work with any map ~ if that makes sence!
Likewise, you can have a .postal version higher then the map version, as in my case ! _________________ TomTom 700 GO user since Dec 2005.

Thanks for the help I have applied the 850 codes to the 840 maps and nothing seems to have gone wrong when I tested it to several random post codes for Argos branches around the country, found on their latest catalogue. |
