|

Ok guys (and dolls) here's a question I've been meaning to ask for a while. See sig for tomtom model and map version.
On my map there is a car park location in Wrexham town. The co-ordinates to find it easily are N 53d02.871' and W 2d59.856'
Now, the annoying this about this is that this poi icon is incorrectly placed (what a surprise!) and I wish to move it to it's correct location via mapshare but cannot. I'm told it that the "slected item is not a map provider poi"
The correct location is N53d02.799' and W 2d 59.889'
So, my question relates to the error message displayed, why is it being displayed when my view is that it is a tomtom provided poi and how can I move it? This isn't the only poi which gives this message.
Thanks,
Pete |

Is it the St Marks Road car park? At what point do you get this message? I'm able to move it on my 720 but, as I don't know the correct position for it, I haven't gone as far as submitting it. _________________ Anita

Anita.
Yes, it is The St Marks Road car park. Once I have that point displayed I click on it and click on the blue circular icon at the base of the screen. I then select 'correct location', navigate to second page to select edit poi and it is at that precise point when a list of POI categories is displayed along with that error message which is highlighted in blue in the top right hand corner.
This POI has been in the wrong place over many map revisions. I too had the 720 prior to upgrading to the 750 and I also have always been able to move it previously.
The correct location is as per the gps co-ordinates in the original post. |

Maybe the menus are different on your 750 from my 720, but this is what I do:
Main Menu / Page 2 / Map corrections / Correct a map error / Page 2 / Edit POI / POI in city / Wrexham / Parking garage / St Marks Road / Select / Move the POI on the map / Done. This shows an icon at the current position with a red-outlined icon beneath it with the flashing blue cursor. Tapping the screen moves the red-outlined icon and the cursor to the tapped position. Click Done and I get the message "Your map has been changed" etc. _________________ Anita

Anita,
Why I didn't think of trying your way I'll never know but it worked a treat. Thank you. Why one way should work and the other doesn't Lord only knows. Anyhow, problem solved.
Many Thanks |
