|
|
First thing to say - I've answered a lot of questions by looking at existing threads and these are the remaining ones that I can't find in a morning's work. I apologise if they are indeed answered elsewhere....
1. I see all the complaints about LIVE services reliability, but suspect that they'll be a lot better in 12 months' time when I actually need to pay for a subscription (given the new offer).
The question is - in terms of accuracy, coverage and optimisation, how much of an improvement on RDS-TMC (which I've never used either) is HD Traffic?
2. I understand the internal memory is 2Gb but there is no expansion slot - does that leave any space for extra maps, such as USA? And if not, is there a model with expansion capability (or USA built in) that doesn't cost twice as much as the one I'm looking at?
Thanks in advance. |

When it works it is very accurate in comparison to the RDS system which is often 30 minutes or more out of date, I have regularly seen HD Traffic show up a jam on the screen which is within a hundred feet of its true location (normally as you join the queue of slower traffic - RDS can be a mile out in comparison.

You can remove the European map and store it on the PC then install a USA map for a trip over to the otherside of the "Pond" on your return simply remove the USA map to the PC and return the European map to the device - Mike |

Excellent. Thanks for your help Mike - I saw your recommendation (to someone who didn't really want much "live" stuff) on another post for a GO930T with permanent RDS, but the price difference in the units, HD accuracy and the "free year" offer swing it to the XL I think.
Thanks again. |
