|

I have just signed up and downloaded the camera database for my Nuvi 660. I extracted the camera files to the same directory where I have other POIs for various places, such as shell stations, etc. The question that I have is whether I should have extracted the camera files to a different directory and created a sepate file on my SD card for the cameras and for the locations. It seems to that if I do not create sepatate files I will see all of the camera POIs in the same list as the location POIs. Is that assumption true and is the solution to have sepate gpx files on the SD card? _________________ Garmin NUVI 660 with 2010 maps, Navman 550, Garmin Etrex Vista, Garmin 775 |

You can do what you want to do. I used to keep them all in the same file. Makes no difference really. You'll see all the POIs in the same list even if you split them between the internal memory and SD Card. |

But will I see them in the same list if they are two separate files both on the SD card or does it not matter how many POI files there are no matter where they are. Awkward if they are mixed because I already have a lot of POIs without the camera files. _________________ Garmin NUVI 660 with 2010 maps, Navman 550, Garmin Etrex Vista, Garmin 775 |

Yes you will see them all in the same list.
For another way to avoid having the UK cameras mixed up in the list with the POI categories, the following works on my nuvi 255:
Within the folder on the PC, the cameras, camera icons and voices are all in a subfolder called New Folder (yes New Folder). This means that, in the nuvi's list of POI categories, the camera items are grouped together in their own folder.
And I don't have to prefix with "zz" the camera files at every update, to put them at the end of the list.
