I have a Tomtom One version 2 regional. I notice you have reviewed the new One with the IQ routes/lane guidance. I like these features especially the lane guidance but am loath to splash out on a new unit. Are existing Tomtom One’s able to use the IQ routes/lane guidance if new maps are bought?
If it needs an update in the units software is it likely Tomtom will eventually release an update to allow these options to function? |

TomTom Home works out which map to download based upon the deivce connected, this is done automatically so you will only ever get an IQ Routes map by accident.
You would also have to run a Navcore version on your device that is intended to be put on a different TomTom, whilst it might work you might also brick the device.
The newer models have twice the RAM of the earlier units, this extra memory is needed for the newer features, so even if you got it working it might not be very stable - Mike |

the x20 range had a software update to allow them to use iq routes BUT you also had to buy the new maps with iq routes data.
i would assume that the same would apply for the one range but i can't say for definite!

Thread moved to a more applicable forum section, this way it should attract more answers - Thanks - Mike |
