|
|
Hi
I am slightly confused about which version of the North America maps I should be using.
I have version 805.1801 installed on my SD card and it takes up a whopping 1717MB
Now when I do an update in TomTom Home, it says I need to download and install version 660 of the USA maps (this is only 914Mb)
Anyone got any ideas what I should do?
Thanks

You don't say what model TomTom you have. I guess it's a 9x model if you have NA maps.
In any event, version 805 is newer than any version 6x of NA maps.
In fact the newest NA map is 825 with 830 expected any day now.
Bottom line: ignore the message for a 660 map. _________________ David |

The 660 map is an error that you can simply ignore, have you had more than one TomTom device and is this latest device using the same e-mail account you used to have associated with a different TomTom product?
If so it is this that is causing the v660 map to be offered, I seem to remember a few forum members allowing Home to download the map to their PC which stopped the stupid error message, you don't need to install it on the device just leave it on the PC.
You really should only ever use a single unique e-mail address for each device you own - Mike |

Many thanks for the advice!
Its a 530, probably should have said that!
Interesting point about using a unique email for each device.
I think including warranty replacements and new models, I have had 4 devices associated with this account.
The reason I kept the same account was so my traffic subscription carried over. How would you do this if you created a new account?
Thanks

If you used a new e-mail address and wanted to transfer Plus services from an earlier device it can be done through TomTom but that can be difficult as well - Their system isn't very flexible when it comes to swapping devices around, I messed up my 940 a while ago by re-using an e-mail address that was linked to a different device - Mike |
