I have tried to download some poi earlier today and got a message saying that
Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried three different browsers. The rest of the site appears to work OK. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Hi Mike, I don't have a problem with the page loading, it's when I click the download button, that I get a new page with this error. I have tried IE 8, Avant 11, Opera 9 and Google Chrome. All four of the browsers give me the same fault. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

I've just tested this and it's working for me, do you still have the issue? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I'll try it again tonight when I get home from work. I'll let you know what happens. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

This is getting a little more complicated....
I tried downloading "Accommodation" and "Fuel" as combined files. I got the unable to open page error.
I tried "Accommodation" on it's own and still got the same error.
I then tried "Fuel" on it's own. It started to download, then I got this message:-
"! C:\Documents and Settings\Tom\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\YVDFKR3H\POIs[1].zip: Unexpected end of archive"
I'm not sure what to make of this. I get the same result if I click "Show Link"
I update my POI almost as frequently as I do with the cameras, so it is not user error (I hope!) _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Are you limiting the Subcategories in each Category to a Maximum of 22? _________________ Richard

Normally, the way that I do this, is to select "Fuel" as one subcategory, then "ATMs" as a second subcategory. I download both of these together, first having selected "Combine subcategories into category file"
I then go on to pick the other 30 or so categories that need updating, having selected "Separate files per subcategory"
This system has worked properly for the last year, until yesterday.
The only thing that I have done differently is to remove individual "Accommodation" categories and try to download as one combined file. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Just downloaded the complete "Fuel" and "ATM" Categories together, with the Subcategories combined and had no trouble what so ever.
The "Accommodation" File seems to fall over if you exceed 30 Subcategories. _________________ Richard

Apparently this is a php parsing error, according to my son!
Edit: I have already tried just fuel on it's own but got no joy. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Does that apply with other web browsers? Looks more like a Google Chrome bug, it is Beta software so not unexpected, see here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hmm as I can't replicate it here it's impossible to diagnose. Could be an issue with your ISP, a slow response triggering a time-out type error. _________________ Darren Griffin |

This last ten minutes have been frantic! My son was behind me saying stuff like Alt / Print Screen copy paste etc etc. Goodness only knows how I managed to get these screenshots online........?
Anyway he agrees with you, he thinks that a Virgin server may have gone down somewhere causing a time dalay between you and me.
I'll give them a ring in the morning and see what the score is. Thank you both for looking anyway. _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

What OS is the PC running as Vista is renowned for throwing errors due to slow activity from some programs? - Mike |
