Hi,
I have a Go 300 and recently updated to v7.903 and latest W Europe map. I also up graded my speed camera data base.
For some reason, my TomTow would report 'no route found' to some of my personally added POI's, but would navigate to just 500yards up the road. I tried re setting and then popped a question to TomTom. They replied very quickly suggesting I do a Reset Factory Settings. It worked! But, I lost all my favorites (wtg on answer from TomTom) and my voice camera warnings.
On going through the excelent instructions on the PocketGPS help page, I have managed to get some working, but I have two questions:
1: After adding the 'p' in front of mobile sounds, it did not work, and
2: The veraiable camera warnings did not pick up the corrisponding sound file, but aske me to ad one of the stanadard ones.
Can anyone let me know where I have gone wrong?
Thanks,
Rick. |

For your second issue, there have been several reports of machines running the latest software only getting half way through the sound set-up and then refusing to allow any more cusom sounds. A reset with a pin in the bottom has fixed the situation every time so far.
For your first question, can you look at the file names in Windows Explorer (making sure that you have Windows Explorer set to show all file extensions - Tools/Folder options/View tab/Untick "Hide extensions for known file types"), and paste the exact name you gave the sound files for the pMobiles up on here? |

Thanks Andy,
I'll give both your suggestions a try.

I've found it occurs when you attempt to set-up pMobiles if your chosen sound set doesn't have a pMobile sound file.
Simple solution is to leave the pMobiles to last then assign a sound alert from the built-in options. Not had an issue since when I leave pMobiles till last _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks Darren,
I'll have to go through that one slowly, as I'm not quite sure what you mean by leaving the 'p' ones until last. As I remember, I did leave them intil last and I did assign the built in ones as had no alternative. Also, I have now noticed, that I get two voice sound warnings for every camera. One giving me the speed and type and the other just that there is a speed camera.
All since I upgraded to v7.903, all was ok before. So what ever happened to 'if it is'nt broke, don't fix it'? Incidently, I have exactly the same situ since 'updating' windows, now my laptop just cannot come out of hibernation without two re boots! Another story.
Thanks for your reply, and
Regards,
Rick. |

Just updating to a different software version CAN'T have that effect, sir.
It sounds like you must have somehow installed two different versions of the database at some point (eg speed-zoned AND single file).
If you can manage to post a listing of all of the files in your map folder that start with "Pocket..." it would be easy to spot what's gone wrong.
A little program called "Drivez" can make a list of the files for you to save a lot of typing. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/drivez.html |
