|

Just got a 540 at the weekend. In the preferences menu, there is an option to select audio using "internal speaker, audio line out or bluetooth".
No sign of line-out socket anywhere, though.
Am I missing something, or is it a feature that TomTom plan to introduce as an extra cost accessory? |

The accessory mount was released a few weeks ago, have a read about it Here It is used in conjunction with a Brodit Pro-Clip, these have the required Line-Out socket and an iPOD/ RDS-TMC connection point, There should also be a third party mount by Carcomm at some future point - Mike |

Thanks for the info.
Brodit don't do a suitable clip for my car ('09 Mazda 6) yet, so I'll have a go at making my own.
The console clip is too low, the vent clip obscures the clock/trip computer, the angled clip isn't available yet. |

There WERE originally plans for the normal windscreen mount to have the three sockets on, see picture:
TomTom haven't said why they changed their mind and produced the cut-down version for inclusion in the box (penny-pinching, I guess!), nor have they said why they haven't started selling it as an accessory, or if they have scrapped plans for it.
There's more discussion on it HERE |

I presume both mounts feature the same ball and socket thus you could pull them apart and put the more advanced docking piece on the window sucker |

You could make a windscreen holder with the three connectors on it out of the two separate mounts, but they don't come apart too easily and its a rather costly approach!
I would have thought TomTom would have put a windscreen accessory mount on sale by now with the required connection points, seems strange not to do so - Mike |
