I've just bought a TT530 and upgrade my map for free to the latest version (810) At sametime my TT Home is now 2.4. I've now been offered a year subscription to the TT Map Service Update Service. If i understand this correctly, does this mean that for £27.80 i'll get every updated release of the maps for my TT530 for the next 12 months.
I'm the past when i had a TT One XL i bought the updated maps when they were released from TT at the price TT stated, which if i remember were around the £40.00 or so.
So is this a good deal, not too be missed or am i reading this wrong?
Cheers

Keith, What you are being offered is correct, it should mean the next 12 months map updates (released approx every 3 months) will be yours for a bargain price compared to the previous system.
Have a read of This Thread for additional details, there have been a few problems which is why the thread has grown to 17+ pages, but I guess most people are more than happy with the new deal - Mike |

Well, after repeated attempts over the weekend, I am not being offered the map update service on my 920T, only the full maps. Just spoke to a friendly guy at TomTom UK who checked with Level 2 support who said that it is not being offered to all units but is being rolled out. He said he would escalate it to the next level and see if I could get on the list.
I did see one or two people on the main thread who seemed to have the same problem but, assuming what he says is right, I am surprised there are not more in the same boat as me.
My main concern is that in the next day or so, I go from the 75% discount price band to the 60% one! |

I have signed up to the quarterly map updates for £9.75 per 1/4. I got this by just checking what maps were available for my unit - 910 and the offer came up.
I thought everyone would be able to have this offer! the only thing is you must have the latest map on your unit first - but they did discount this by 60% - £28.95 instead for £70.

Let's just hope that TT get everything up and working by the time of the NEXT Map update....
Else there could be some VERY unhappy customers...... |

THis all seems clear as mud if you use the resourses available to you. If I click latest map guarantee it says mine has expired. However in my Tom Tom account on their site it states I have subscribed with the new map update and the update service for the next year. You'd think this would be reflected in the UI of Home but it isn't. I suppose the answer is that the ORIGINAL map guarantee has been used but it doesn't inspire confidence. Of course there is still the Add Maps feature of Home but a clue as to how we will get these updates would be good. Will see what happens when new maps become available and see how Home handles that. _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

How about servers so overloaded that by the time some of us get the update the second one will already be out. |

But Latest Map Guarantee and the Map Update service you've bought are two completely different things. IMHO it would cause far more confusion if LMG reflected your purchase of the updates. _________________ Anita

Yeah A,
you've said exactly what I was (rather clumsily) trying to say.
I have a document to write this afternoon. I might commision you to do it. Would certainly save some paper!
