I've tried tripmaster, but both version dont work. | I'm afraid I can't help, but I think those that can, will need to know what model and software version you have. _________________ Jock

Well said Jock...
Tripmaster obviously DOES work on most systems, tell us more about yours foophonic, and someone might be able to give specific advice.
There's a list of add-on programs in one of the "sticky" topics at the top. One of those might work for you too. |

Tripmaster & Event Logger were the best ones i used on my TT700.
On my PDA I use GPS Speed Sentry ( I love this program !! )
I have all my trips now saved since April 2008, and i pop them into my own analysis program, to work out the overall average speeds & times of my journeys.
Just out of interest, does anyone know if this data could be used against you ? supposing it fell into the wrong hands??
Cheers

Yes, Tripmaster should work fine. Have you checked my flash-video here?

Aside from a few typos, that's an excellent tutorial, runarg! Thanks for putting it together and sharing.
I've had Tripmaster working on almost every model except the original ONE and the new x30 series, so you should be able to get this going with a minimal amount of effort. Tripmaster is a fantastic program - I used it to log ~3,500 miles last week without a single hiccup. I love that you can set it to record "actual" or "snapped" points to evaluate the accuracy of the underlying data. |

after using a different software version to view the cab file, and following the flash movie, all seems hunky doorey now.
One slight querey, how do i change the units to miles. I have changed the "units metric" to read imperial and miles and neither changed it... |

I should have been clearer: It's not that I haven't been able to get it to work, it's just that I haven't tried - the original ONE was never brought to the US, and I haven't picked up any of the x30's yet since I'm pretty happy with my 720 and content to wait for the software/map update to include ALG, IQ Routes, etc.
Thanks for confirming it will work with the x30s - I will likely be setting a friend up with Tripmaster on a 130 later this week so it's good to know I won't have any trouble.
Also, "units english" should do the trick as Jolly Roger mentioned. |

Hi Folks
I followed this topic and decided to download and install Tripmaster on my 720. I followed the instructions on the website and it all installed ok. It worked.
Unfortunately after a few minutes I noticed that I was no longer getting a GPS signal on either my Tomtom or Tripmaster. I then found that if I switched the device off and then back on once again all was ok for a short while. And that was it.
I had no option but to uninstall the Tripmaster. I’m not really bothered but I would like to know the reason for my failure. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Oh! I forgot to mention that not only was I not getting a GPS signal but on the GPS screen the small thingy in the top right hand corner had stopped rotating. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I've managed to get a few things working now. Version 1.8a
the later version 2 wouldnt work, in that the config screen would not show, hence not being able to change to miles. As the earlier version worked I didnt try using "english" as an option. ( i could look in the config file now and see what's actually written as the earlier version's config screen now works.)
I did a 300 mile 6 hr round trip the other day (yay work) and the program worked fine throughout, I even tried logging the trip and am currently trying to find the file it made.... |
