|

I have 2 problems with my new device, and Im interested to know if anyone can help resolve, or whether this is a warranty job:
1. Device battery appears to drain in use even when the device is charging on cig lighter adapter. The device will seem to run ok for a couple of hours, but then it shuts down and attempts to restart getting no further than the owner info screen before it goes back to the tomtom logo.
2. The bluetooth phone feature has worked perfectly with my nokia for a few hours, but now, whilst it all seems to connect and dial correctly there is no caller sound coming from the device forcing me to revert back to handset.
Can anyone shed light on whether these are known problems? |

Well, a week or so later I can now say that a good over night charge seems to have settled the unit down again. I havent since used the device as a hands free bluetooth kit as I suspected that this might just be causing it to discharge faster than it can charge off the ciggy lighter. But I will try this again now to be sure. |

So 6 months after first posting this mail, and having used the 930 extensively, I can say that this problem is definitely consistent and seemingly related to some sort of power budget issue the device has trying to cope with running bluetooth.
With Bluetooth off the device seems fairly reliable. Turn it on, and the device reboots, fails to boot and generally becomes unreliable. |

Contact TomTom support as the device might have a fault, I use Bluetooth on my 930 for streaming HiFi audio to the car stereo so its on for hours at a time and haven't had anything like the issues you describe. Their UK Support number is 0845 161 0009 - Mike |

It could be your cigarette lighter charger is not a TomTom unit, a faulty one or one than does not have sufficient power.
One of my mobile phone USB car charger adaptors does not sufficiently power my TomTom and the various models I have range between 0.25A & 5A. Even my TomTom labelled car adapters outputs vary between 1.2A & 2A.
Try it with a different power supply and see if that makes a difference. _________________ Drivelux |
