Hello
I have just purchased today a new Nuvi 300T, and have downloaded "City Navigator Europe NT 2008" from mygarmin.com as it came with the old v9 UK maps.
After downloading the updated maps I loaded the 2008 UK maps onto the Nuvi using "Mapinstall" as prompted - but now I have no idea where all the other european maps are stored, and cant figure out how to save them onto SD card as I can't find them.
I read that you can't have all UK and Europe on the set at the same time, as it's too large for the memory so you must put some on SD cards, but I would like UK and France, and I want to save the others in case I need them in future.
I guess I was expecting to see a folder on my PC with files for each country map that I could save or drag/drop onto an SD card.
I did try running mapinstall again and I seem to have some of Northern France installed as well, it shows the following under Map Info:
City Navigator Europe NT 2008
(1) NOISY-LE-GRAND, FRANCE, ROUEN, FRA.........
(2) UK & Ireland
As it was all downloaded I've no CD or anything so I want to make sure that all maps are safely stored on my PC and SD cards, rather than relying on Mapinstall.
Can anyone help me out please (sorry for the long first post).

The usual way is to run MapSource, select the map tiles you want and copy them to your unit. In your case this is best done to a separate SD card as there won't be enough memory to store any significant other maps.
get a blank SD card, create a top level directory called "Garmin", put it into a PC card reader/writer and MapSource should see it as a Garmin device. When you finish put the card into the nuvi and restart it.
You can also use MapInstall in a similar manner. This should have been automatically installed as part of the update from V9 to 2008. _________________ Phil
