Quite fond of the idea of having my own text read alound when near POI's, but I cant see a way of 'playing back' the text other than when I'm actually near that POI! C'mon, there must be a way of doing that - I want to check that a particular one sounds how I want it to, and its a 30 mile drive to get there!!! |

Use the Advanced Planning option, sometimes called "Prepare Route" (AtoB) icon on the second page of the menu, plan a route using position on map to set the departure point near the POI (about half a mile away from it), and the POI as the destination.
Once the route is planned choose "Details" then use Route Demo to play back the planned route at a speed of 100% when you get within range of the destination the device will play back your POI warning without you using any fuel at all - Mike |

D'oh! Nearly had it - I'd done the Route Demo but only got the flashing icon when I 'approached', hadn't occurred to me to do it at 100% rather than the speedy 500%! Cheers, that did it, and I can happily confirm that "Tally Van Scamera" does indeed sound as it should... |
