|
|
Nowthen,
My wife has the TT GO 520 in her mkiV golf (company car before I get grief) and she currently has the Nokia hands free attachment to the left of the stereo. She is sick of the bundled mount either falling off the windscreen or being difficult to remove!
What are our options, I like the idea of the Brodit active mount, but I wasn't sure where that could go. Also we wanted a universal enough mount that could fit my car too or if she gets another car its not a new mount.
Active is a bonus, but don't need TMC adapter.
Any advice much appreciated.
Cheers _________________ TT Go 520

Best solutions will be from Brodit (DSL Developments are a good distributor in the UK) who do airvent or side of console mounts, or "Buybits" do a large range of alternative windscreen, airvent and disk mounts from Arkon, Herbert Richter and others.
DSL Developments
BuyBits
I'd be interested to hear of anyone's experiences with any of the vent mounts from BuyBits as well... |

I have a brodit active mount from DSL and can recommend the company and also the quality of the mounts .
I believe air vent clips can damage the air vents ,.Darren is at the moment testing a new bean bag mount which looks very promising

I'm having no problems at all with the supplied mount with my 720 which, I believe is the same as the 520 mount.
But I use it dry as TT instructs in its user guide, whereas other suction mounts seem to work better if wetted/. _________________ TT Go Essential |

I'm a proud owner of a Go 520, and previously a tomtom One V2. I use a Vent mount as i find it more discrete and easier to control the tomtom. i bought my vent mount from here http://www.buybits.com/ |

Can you tell me which one you bought zebsogo?
BuyBits seem to sell several different types/makes of vent mount. |

Some people find them okay but many complain and search for an alternative !!! I honestly believe it does depend on the rake of your windscreen and your hand dexterity |

Thank you zebsogo, that's EXACTLY what I wanted to know.
Going by the pictures it looked like the Arkon was rather too long for my liking. |
