I mistakenly purchased one of these last year and now Evesham have gone bust, they are not honouring warranties. Mine has lost the sound and also camera database has run out. I can sign up with the new outfit who are handling warranties for £100 plus per year. Is this unit worth getting repaired elsewhere and are there companies that do them ?
Or should I bin it and get asomething new, if so what is your recommendations. I am retired so only use the SatNave about 10 times per year. The Safety Camera Database is probably more important so if I buy a new unit, which is the easiest one to
download this camera database to? Sorry to be so long-winded but not a techie (aged 74) so any help would be appreciated. |

As no-one has answered you, I'll try to.
I'm in the same boat as you, my nav-cam has developed a fault which makes it unusable; Evesham or their receivers or the bunch of useless articles who took it over also took £30 off me in March for camera updates.
Enough of my wingeing, on Monday 14th July I bought a Myguide 3100 for £70 from Nettos. I highly recommend this item, it is infinitely superior to the Nav-cam in every respect and includes a camera database with no upgrading costs. It doesn't play music or show pictures but to me (I'm 75) that's no loss.
Nettos are probably sold out, they were selling like hot cakes, but you should be able to buy one for a similar price without the full Western Europe maps that were on the Netto offer.
Do a Google search, lots of very complementary reports. |

French leave
Thanks for the reply - However too late I'm afraid I purchased a Tom Tom - more expensive than your one I'm afraid, but I'm very pleased with it. I will use the camera database from here in future, it is cheaper and more comprehensive. We don't haave any Netto's near us either. Won't bother with the Google Search either. Anyone want to buy a faulty Evesham 7700 with all the bits - for spares ???
