|
|
A couple of weeks ago I bought a 920T which came with version 710 mapping.
Contacted TT who sent me version 715 which I installed.
Power up the 920T, click on the "version 7.481" and sure enough it shows the map data as v715.1703.
However - if I use Windows Explorer to look in the Root folder there is a folder called "TomTom.cfg" and when I look in there it shows map version as "Western & Central Europe. 710.1576-TA.2007_EUR_NAM_GO920", i.e the original map version it came with.
I would have thought that updating a map would have changed the .cfg file.
Anybody know what this is all about?

There's nothing with a ".cfg" extension in the root directory.
But if you mean the FILE called "image.ver" that is inside a folder called "TomTom-Cfg" then I think you're right... it just shows the original configuration of the machine when new.
Mine says v705. |

Yes that is what I meant Andy, thanks for confirming it.
Though why one would want to record the original map I don't know!
Still, as long as it's not a problem..........
