I have the Navman S90i if I take a photo to get the Lat & Long coordinates where I live. it comes up 51' 21' 02 N 0' 27' 31' E
can anyone check this and tell me where I live :-) just to see if it's right.
Because when I go into the report new speed camera and I move the map to the coordinates that I have, it' miles away, unless I am doing something wrong, I don't know much about mapping coordinates, but willing to learn. |

What you could be doing wrong is mistaking degrees, minutes, seconds (as quoted by you) for decimal. Your location in decimal is 51.350556N/0.458611E
Try entering that and see if it makes a difference.
Just for your interest, both co-ordinates indicate a position in the centre of Wouldham, High Street situated between the A228 to the West and the M2 to the East Am I right and do I get a prize _________________ Gee-Pee

That location should look more like (51°21'02"N, 0°27'31"E) but like Geepee said if you convert it to decimals you can then search for your location in something like google maps. Just copy in the location in the brackets above and see for yourself.
Or serch for an online long,lat converter to convert to decimals.
I thought the S90 displayed both formats? Maybe have a look in the preferences to see if you can change the displayed co-ordinate format. _________________ Dom

@snowwolf
I suggest that you take a look at street map [see here] and enter the lat/long (51°21'02"N 0°27'31"E) as N51:21:02 E00:27:31 - this saves the chore of converting to decimal degrees. |
