They buy in TMC data from iTIS in the UK. iTIS are one of only two TMC data sources, both commercial that are licensed in the UK, the other being the RAC/TrafficMaster partnership. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks Darren for the reply, if they buy in the data that begs the question, where do ITis get it from then? Whoever provides it what is the original source...where does it come from originally...accident reports to the police, roadside cameras? |

iTIS maintain a network of 'floating vehicle data collection systems' on vehicle fleets such as Eddie Stobart and National Express, better explained on their web-site. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I'm in the middle of an experiment, from my vantage point I can see the whole of the A40 from M40 J1 to Swakeleys Roundabout. This stretch of road been running very slowly between these points all day and TomTom Traffic (as monitored via TomTom Home) has correctly flagged it so far. I'm waiting for ths actual traffic to clear and then see how long before TTT catches up.

Well the experiment has a result! TTT no longer has the A40 between M40 J1 and Uxbridge flagged as a problem, when in reality the traffic is as slow as ever! |

Hmmmm...must have been a glitch, TTT has reinstated the slow traffic alert. |
