Firstly, hello
Proud owner of a new tt one xl europe, but I have a couple of questions, would appreciate any feedback please...
installed tt home (using latest version dl), set up account, but keep getting network error when I try to log in ? the software seems to work ok, back up was fine (bit slow, 25 mins). Have checked firewall access is set up, I'm wondering if its just a bad day on their server, does that happen ?
to be honest I was dissapointed that I cant run the mapping software on my pc, set up routes, fav, poi's etc then dl to the tt one, or am I expecting too much from an all in one device? or hopefully I'm missing something?
I didnt fancy the pda route with all the various things you need to have, not really a fan of pda's.
Been searching around and it looks like only the via michelin units have mapping that can dl to the unit, but via their website ! not ideal and from all I've read around the forums tom tom is a better system.
the map of portugal is quite lacking in smaller roads, can I use other maps from other supliers on my tt one ? I read somewhere about a map set that TT decided not to use because it was too expensive for the licence, anyone know what those maps are called ? if indeed I can even use them on an all in one unit (I think it was pda users talking about the better maps?)
Thanks for the reply Oldboy Any more info or pointers in the right direction would be most appreciated.. I went through threads after using search, didnt find a solution or answer to any of my queiries, I guess they must be so old hat to users round here.
I find the software to be quite rubbish and really not worthy of "award winning" status, unless its an award for being rubbish that is its like using windows 3.1 all over again
Deleted tt home, I had the dl version. Installed from cd, same problems. Deleted it all again, installed from cd, ran tt home with cd in player still and it conected straight away. Checked for updates, there is a new os update, installed it, now I can access my device, it took me through the dl for the missing dll and I can now drive the thing from my pc, hooray!! some confidence regained makes planning a route so much easier. still very buggy software though, like using an early beta version tbh.
