Hi all. I'm new to this here forum.
I have a workmate, actually my boss, who purchased a gps unit whilst she was away on hols in China. The problem is... you ready for this...... are you sure??? there was no drivers or software in the Box and there is also no model or manufactures markings except for 1 logo on the unit. see the pics below
I am chasing a usb driver so that I can link it too my laptop and install tomtom onto the devise (hopefully).
Does anyone know how I can find out what the unit is called or who the manufacturer is so I can find the driver.
I have added some pics to hopefully aid identification

Box side 1 http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/6647/boxside1hx1.jpg
Box side 2 http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/7215/boxside2ki1.jpg
Logo http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/2055/p7310016gp7.jpg This is the only form of product identification anywhere.
The operating system is working fine, is written in english and the system info is as follows
ROM Version: V26.Y17S.D9.3.6
Processor: ARM920T
RAM Size: 64MB
Software version: 1.14
ID: 59464750533137532d4bef53000000bf
I really hope I can get this working for her as she spent a coupl of hundred dolars on it. she says she learnt her lesson
Thanks all |

I found somthing called a 'Leadertone' and a 'Dream box' that look similar. Found them by looking at google images, typing in 'china gps'.
Look at this
or this
Although I'm thinking 'Doorstop' have you tried just plugging it into your pc for plug'n'prey drivers? _________________ Dom

your a legend. it is a great startingpoint.
the unit is either a dreambox or a leaderzone. it seems to be the same unit.
now to find the driver for it and hopefully
i can install tomtom on it. I can onlydo this if I can access the cab file from within the unit.
thanks heaps |

If it's WinCE based then there won't be a driver, is it USB? Have you tried installing ActiveSync from Microsoft and seeing if that enables communication? _________________ Darren Griffin |

GIVOE - it was right there in the logo of your last picture...

It's up to you now to find the right device and see if there are drivers for it. |
