How do I change this annoying speed camera alert sound to something more pleasant.
I have Tomtom Nav.6 on a Nokia N80 phone.
Thanks for any replies.
Paul. |

Choose a different set of .ogg files.
Personally, I use it and think it's the dog's b****, wouldn't want anything else. _________________ Dennis

Whose speed camera database are you using? If it's TomTom's then you can't, they don't allow customization of the warning alert. If it's ours then you can choose from a range of options, see:

Unfortunately as it's a Symbian Device the ogg files won't work.
If you are running TT V6.010 there is a data.chk suitable Here.
This is assuming you are using the PGPSW Camera Database! _________________ Richard

Hi guys,
Thanks for your swift replies, much appreciated.
I don't know what version I have of Tomtom nav.6 as it was one that I downloaded..Ahem!
I've looked at the folders and can't find anywhere that has the sounds for camera alerts.
Thanks,
Paul. |

Paul, what speed camera database are you using, TomToms or ours? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren,
Sorry but I have no idea as they came with the software.
I'm still not that upto speed on mobile phone stuff. I can do a screen print of the folders if that helps?
Cheers,
Paul. |

I ask because I note that you're not a subscriber to our database. As the software is not legitimate you cannot be using TomTom's own safety camera database.
It doesn't take much of a leap to deduce therefore that not only do you have a pirated copy of the TomTom application but that it is highly likely the speed camera database you have is a pirated copy of ours.
We take a very strong anti-piracy line here, you admit you have acquired the software unlawfully and given this and the likely hood that the database is a pirated copy of ours we will not help you further with any queries.
Once you've paid for a legitimate copy and paid to use our data then feel free to return and ask further questions, until then please don't. _________________ Darren Griffin

Ok Darren,
I fully appreciate your help.
Like I say, I'm not sure what I have so here's a screen print.
If its not from you, is there a way to register and pay for updates etc.
Many thanks,
Paul. |

They look like our files that have simply had the 'pocketgps' part edited out. Yes there is a way to register, you click the 'Join' link at the top right and pay the subscription fee. _________________ Darren Griffin |
