Has anyone successfully installed camera voice alerts on the G520 ?.
I have a Nuvi 300 and use POI loader to install .csv + .bmp + .mp3 and it all works extremely well.
I copy the same data to an SD card, plug it in my G520 and it totally ignores the voice files and only produces the original bing bongs. The visual alerts work fine.
I have also tried .wav voices but it ignores them also, as the G520 is so similar to the nuvi - except for additional functions - I'm sure it must be able to do it.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

iirc the kenwood units are essentialy streetpilot c320's which, i don't think, are compatible with the voice alerts. this would explain why it doesn't work

Hi MaFt, thanks for the reply.
Having downloaded the C320 manual and specification, I guess you must be right, I can only hope that Garmin may include this feature in a future update.
Other than this, and their pricing policy for map updates, I think the G520 is a really good, and easy to use system.
Thanks again. |
