What I need to know is if I have TomTom mobile 5 on a mini sd card can I legally copy it onto a micro sd card so that it will work in my new HP 514 and will I encounter any problems running the software with the copy
I am told that mobile 5 will work on the 514 which runs under WM6 but that TomTom 6 will not
Confused ,Yup< but unbowed _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

Perhaps I should put more detail
My 3970 has died
I can buy a legal mobile 5 on mini sd with sd convertor
I wish to copy it to micro sd so that its in use on my 514 and only that machine
It would be a fully registered product
where do I break any copyright _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

You don't - the problem you face is one that affects lots of us with modern phones the product is not supplied on a compatible card format.
The answer is to copy the card to the PC then copy the files from the PC to the new card - register the product and use it quite legal in all respects.
When you copy the original card make sure you have "Show hidden files" selected otherwise your copy won't work - (Windows Explorer - Tools/ Folder options_ View tab) - Mike |

Ah, now if you said you where TRANSFERING the program (i.e. not running it on two systems at the same time) then i would have given a different answer. |
