|
|
My other half just bought me a new ICN 750 (upgrading from ICN 510)
I installed the speed camera locations no problem onto the memory card (did not want to put onto hard drive of sat nav). Then I realised I put the visability to the wrong setting so I deleted all the speed camera POI's via smartST.
My problem is that since doing the above, in the
POI Alerts settings it keeps coming up with the old speed camera POI names on the list of POI's available, even thought they have been deleted!? I cannot seem to be able to delete them off the screen?!
Also I seem to randomly get Application errors when I am accessing the POI's stored on the memory card. I have tried 2 working cards now (512mb and 1gb) and happens on both.
Any ideas anyone? Do I need to re-install Smart ST to my icn?
Thanks in advance, otherwise back to Tesco it goes!

This is somthing I have refered to as poi ghosting. Had it on my icn750.
Read this tread here it may help!

Doing a reinstall of the icn is the fix I used, However Ensuring that you use the same file names helps as I am not brave enough to try different names again just incase it happens again! _________________ Dom

Many thanks, That post was great reading.
In future I will use the same names as before to prevent this from happening. Makes sense thinking about it!!!!!!!
Tried reinstall SmartST to icn however old names were still there.
so I got the hump and went into the ICN system files to try to find the rogue file(s). Heres what I found...............................
# I accept no responsability if this does not work on your Navman ICN 750 - I strongly advise to back up files before editing them in case anything goes wrong #
I connected Navman to pc,
selected Diskonchip folder
Navman folder
Smartst_ce folder
User data folder
Then there are 2 files amonst them of interest I found: poialerts and poialerts_Bak.
COPY (backup) these to your desktop and view them. A list of the poi's will show and will show the 'ghost' poi's.
I edited these files on Microsoft frontpage and removed the 'Ghost poi's'
Ensuring that the text was in the same format as before editing, just with the Ghosts removed.
saved files, then copied files over to the folder on my Navman,
reset device and Hey presto Ghost's have disappeared!!
I suppose that this is the more riskier way to do it (not road tested my Navman as yet but all looks ok so far) |

Well done for figuring that, I'll remember this thread for the next poor soul who finds the poi ghosts. To check, if you zoom into somewhere on your gps with a speed camera location, If the problem is still there the device will hang. Otherwise enjoy. _________________ Dom
