... due to a faulty speaker.
I remember spending quite a bit of time (mostly thanks to the excellent advice given on here may I add!) setting it up so that the speed camera information was present and so that I had audio alerts.
Basically, I want to know how to get this onto the replacement TomTom that he's hopefully going to pick up tomorrow, and want to be sure I'm getting the correct files across.
As a precaution I've copied all of the files as a backup, but I believe that only the .ov2 and .ogg files need to be copied across, but I'm not entirely sure? Any advice would be ace, thanks! |

Correct, either d/l them again or copy them directly into the map folder.
AFTER DOING A BACK-UP OF COURSE! |

You need the folowing POI files for them to work correctly:
.ov2 (which contains the locations)
.ogg (which is the audio warning sound)
.bmp (which is the icon)
All the files related to the speed cameras will start with a file name of "pocketgps_uk......" these are the ones to copy to the new device - Mike |

You might also consider creating a poi file from your favourites - you can then transfer that over. _________________ RQ

If he's getting the same "flavour" of ONE (i.e. regional or Europe) then just copying "MapSettings.cfg" will get all the favourites, Home location, etc. across.
The only (recently discovered) issue with copying this file across between different machines is that you may lose the ability to select Dutch postcodes if you take the file from a UK only machine and put it on a Europe-wide one (I think!). |
