I bought and downloaded the new GB map for my TTGo 300 using the TomTom HOME software. My friend also wants the new map and has asked me to download it for him as his internet connecton is too slow. Could I do this using the HOME software or is my TomTom "locked into" the software as the only user.

Tom Tom won't be too keen on you doing stuff for your friend and you could be in danger of locking one or other of the satnavs.
Best bet would be to ask Tom Tom, then you'll get the horse's mouth answer. _________________ Dennis

If you Login in HOME with his TT Account and connect his Unit, you should be able to Purchase, and Download, the Upgrade for him.
I would move your Copy of the Map Download to a safe place, so that the New Download doesn't OverWrite it. It location can be found in HOME/File/Preferences/Advanced. _________________ Richard

Thanks for that, I set up a new account for him on my computer with another of my email addresses for ease of getting replies from TomTom etc and bought and download the new map for him. I moved my map to a safe place as suggested then being logged in to TomTom HOME with his account I installed the maps with ease. Tinkered a bit with the favourites and POI's etc and it is running well
