Hi, I am unable to select a language on my icn 530.
There are NO languages to select in the box. consequently I have no verbal directions spoken to me either.
I did update my smart ST recently.
Navman are very slow to respond to emails.... as usual.
I bet I've done something silly
Any help please
Ta!

Have you got a copy of the Navman 530 manual? If you havn't, you can easily download it from the Navman site in pdf.
See pages 12 and 50 for info about the languages. I assume you selected the 'Do not show on startup' when you first got your Navman? _________________ Gee-Pee

BTW to reinstate the Language screen on start-up, see page 54 of the Manual. _________________ Gee-Pee

Hi Gee Pee,
Thanks for your reply, but whilst exploring my 530 I couldn't find my Male or Female sound files in the sound directory so I copied the ones I had backed up from an earlier 520 I had kept.
It seems to work ok now.
Quite how I lost them in the first place is beyond me.
good job I kept my 520 I guess
Thanks for your reply

This is what happens when you update to SP1. You can find the sound files on your PC in
"C:\Program Files\Navman\SmartST Desktop for iCN530\iCNBin\Sound". Copy the files into
"\My Flash Disk\Navman\Lightning\Navman\Sound" on your iCN 530.
There is no need to copy all of the files. Copy only the files for two languages - e.g. uk_f_5.dat and us_f_5.dat so you can trigger the language selection option. |
