Hi
I've recently upgraded my Orange SPV M2000 (which had fallen to bits) to an M3100 and am trying to install TTN5 (Software & maps of Western Europe).
Whenever the setup program tries to copy anything over, it stops with an "encountered a problem and needs to close" message. I've tried copying the CABs over directly to the storage card and that seems to be fine as far as installing the app goes, but I'm struggling to install maps.
Can anybody help please?
Really don't want to upgrade to TTN6!

Dave, install the maps using a card reader rather than direct to the device, if you are still experiancing problems install the maps to a folder on the PC before using the card reader and windows explorer to copy the files accross - Mike |

Now why didn't I think of that? I work in IT, but when it comes to PDAs, my brain turns to jelly...
Thanks for your help!

I'm also trying to install TTN5 on to my SPV M3100 with problems.
When i run the setup.exe filefrom my PC i receive an error message saying-
Tom Tom Setup Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I've tried copying all the Tom Tom files to my memory card and running setup.exe from the M3100 but i receive a error saying "SETUP" is not a valid Pocket PC application.
Any ideas what i'm doing wrong ?
I've used the same software on a XDA II with no problems.
Many thanks
Chris. |

Welcome
Go back to the original installation kit and start over.
You would have had two opions.
From CD run the CD based SETUP.EXE which is used to install the product from it's CD distribution onto the PDA.
Install from media card using the appropriate .CAB file.
Either way you would then need to copy the maps to the media card (which is best done via a PC card reader for speed).
It should be very similar to your installation on XDAII except that you would have used a different .CAB file as the o/s is different on the two devices. (PPC2003 / WM5) _________________ Phil |
