I was not sure whether to post this query in this forum or in the one dealing with the all-in-one products, but eventually decided to start here.
I have been running TT versions on my Ipaq for a few years, always updating, so currently I have TT5 and the maps of western europe. However, I have problems with my Ipaq and as it is a 5450 I see I won't be able to run the next upgrade on it anyway without updating the OS, which I am reluctant to do when the unit has problems anyway which are hardware related. I now have a TT one, orignal version, software not updated.
I wondered, since I have only installed and activated my maps of western europe once on my Ipaq, and since I wont be using it any more, whether I could now put the europe maps onto a SD card and activate them in the TT one.
This would seem to be allowed by the licence agreement, but is it possible and how would I go about it? _________________ Jim |

yes, this is possible. Simply install the maps onto the SD card . If you need a bigger SD card, copy the old card to the new card and then install the maps onto it. The installer will automatically put the maps into the right folders. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the reply. I have not had chance to try this yet as not bought a spare SD card. However, I had a reply from tomtom support stating categorically that is was not possible as the maps were not compatible.
Very strange then that doing a search to buy the extra maps on their web site took me to exactly the product I have! |

i have just purchased and installed TTN6 maps of western europe on my Ipaq HX4700.
Toying with buying someone a TomTom One V2 UK for Christmas, is this as up to date mapping wise as TTN6 maps of western europe?
Also, if i wanted to could I transfer the SD card of my Ipaq HX4700 (which has seamless map of europe on) to the TomTom One and use it with that ?
This would obviously be Cheaper than buying the TomTom One V2 Europe and as I already own a legitimate copy of the seamless map of europe doesn't seem wrong to me.
Any Thoughts? |
