It is getting a bit long in the tooth now.
There were quite a few changes when the Map went from 314 to the V5 version.
I think it might be worth your while to upgrade in the next round. Whenever that might be. _________________ Richard

We also don't know how they will handle the upgrade. _________________ Richard

Latest release will be full price, not a discounted update. You can download them here: http://www.tomtom.com/plus/services/mds.php
This may be your only route. It's not certain that TomTom will offer a discounted update to older maps (i.e. ones that could have been updated during the Apr05 - Nov05 offer period). I seem to remember them implying this when they urged people to update before the offer closed a year ago.
On the other hand, they have upset so many people with delays and lack of map information over the last year that a gesture to loyal customers would be nice. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

i have the latest western european map which i assume has the latest GB map on it.. i havnt found any differences from the older GB map i have..
stuff that really should be on the new map isnt.. my new map seems at least six years out of date..
as far as i see it there is never gonna be an uptodate map in the true sense of the word.. i think it comes down to luck and where u live..

i dont usually travel too far these days but its still nice to have the latest maps
i think tomtom are a little harsh charging £44 quid for a map update when i already gave them a load of my money to buy it and they were out of date then!
when i installed the map of the disc i have it installed a older map than my other sd card! which i never updated ???
all a bit weird to me so in theory when i started using my new sd card its got a older map than the original sd card! but newer software! |

"charging £44 quid"
i dont think they are chargeing 44 quid for a map upgrade.. they are charging 44 quid for another country map.. it could be france it could be any of the seven country maps available.. one could assume they are the latest maps.. but i think the 44 quid is for another map not a newer version of the one u have..
its not an upgrade price.. just a regional map pice..

There is no 'discount Map upgrade' available at this moment. _________________ Richard

so am i right in saying that the only way of getting a newer map is to get a new complete map?
why are they so tight lipped about it! |
