Apologies if already covered here but i did go through 20 pages before giving up!
I am changing my hp 6510 ipaq to the latest version, HP6915. On the old one i had no problems renaming the file but on the new one (which runs under ms mobile) i cannot rename or delete the file. On the file attributes Archive and System are ticked but they are greyed out so i cannot alter anything. Obviously until i rename the old file i cannot renamr the new file. i seem to remeber a way of doing this under dos but cannot see the directory in my new HP6915 under dos to change it. Can somebody help me please?
THanks

Can you Cut/Paste the File to another Location?
Then Copy the new File to the Device. _________________ Richard

you can backup the old file to SD card, and then copy the new file from SD card to the install folder.
You can also install TomTom to the SD card so yuo don't have these issues at all. _________________ Lutz

Thanks Oldboy but cannot cut and paste (or move). I have however sorted by installing a shareware program called Resco file explorer that enabled me to change the folder attributes, see the file and then rename it. I therefore didnt need to try lbendlins solution but thanks for that anyway. |
